Reflections: Wishing You a Happy (belated) Mother's Day

Hello everyone!

It may be a bit late to be posting this blog post but I feel as though it's never too late to express your gratitude for someone-

and today that happens to be my mom!

On Mother's Day, May 10th

(insane that this was already four days ago)

my family did our best to celebrate my mom at home.

We tried to make it as normal as possible-despite this quarantine-and were above all,

so happy

to be able to spend it together.

Today I want to wish you all a happy belated mothers day to-

you,

your mom's,

your grandma's,

your aunts,

&

all of the special people who have made an impact in your life!

Mom's definitely make the world go 'round and I am so grateful for my amazing mother!

This quarantine has certainly not been easy on any of us, but I am using this time to find gratitude in the littlest moments. With all of our busy, scheduled lives, it is rare that we are all home at the same time.

Are the circumstances causing this quarantine positive?

Absolutely not.

However, the gift of time together with family and friends is certainly a positive to come from them.

While being quarantined is not an ideal situation, I have become more appreciative of the ample time I have available to spend time with them. If this had happened at any other point in my life, I may not have been so fortunate as to be with them during this time. I know many people are quarantined alone which can be very lonely and frustrating-especially around holidays where you're used to uniting with family.

I spent some time reflecting on how thankful I am for the people in my life that care for me and also for those who have past on.

Normally, we try to celebrate Mother's Day with visits to a few of my aunts in order to honor all of the important "mom" figures in our lives but due to quarantine this obviously was not possible. I spent some time reflecting on how thankful I am for the people in my life that care for me and also for those who have past on. I know Mother's Day these past few years have been quite difficult for my mom as she misses her mother and we all certainly miss my grandmothers (on both sides of the family).

In conclusion- and to end on a less sentimental note- we can certainly make the most of these moments while we have them because what's important is being together and being appreciative of what we have right now.

I wish you all the best

&

hope you are staying safe and healthy!
